Landman season two: On the red carpet with Billy Bob Thornton and Ali Larter at the London premiere

Following the huge success of the first series, Landman season two returns to screens with a recurring cast that includes Ali Carter, Demi Moore and Billy Bob Thornton. Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, the story, set in modern-day Texas, revolves around the oil boom and the precarious business alliances and families that circle that industry.

After the death of her oil tycoon husband, Monty Miller (Jon Hamm), his widow Cami (Moore) steps up to assert control of the business. Supported by Tommy Norris (Thornton), she delivers an authoritative speech whilst navigating her new life without her husband by her side. With Tommy and his wife Angela (Ali Larter) back together after separating, they are faced with the challenges of their daughter going to university, their son stepping into the oil industry, Tommy’s parents’ health issues, and then carving out their own future as he is appointed president of M-Tex Oil.

The Upcoming had the pleasure of attending the red carpet premiere, where we spoke to Thornton about coming back for the second season, working once again with the show’s creator and being in London for the launch.

We also chatted to Larter about her role as Angela Norris, what she likes about the new script this time around and working with her fellow cast, including Michelle Randolph, who plays her teenage daughter Ainsley.
